Thompson Sub-Machine Gun

A chinese Thompson airsoft gun is going to be released in a few months. Rumors has it that the manufacturers are either CYMA, AGM/DE, or somebody else. My bet is on CYMA based on just the strap it is bundled with.

FPS is around 310 with .20g. This thing is exactly a TM copy and can take TM mags.

Taiwan's M14 Socom Airsoft Gun

Looks like AIM is set to release a M14 SOCOM version. Price could be half of the Tokyo Mauri's M14 SOCOM version and FPS should be around 330.

Also China is coming out with their M14, but most likely it's the same gun from AIM. Rumor has it might be released by CYMA. Here's the Chinese prototype in action:

Season 4 Teams!!!

February's coming up and we don't have anything set. We need ideas for how we are going to play. I think the papermill area will be a good enough location for now. We're still trying to secure some finances before we can purchase a permanent place.

For me, I prefer 2 set teams. The regular guys will be split up and guys that show up occasionally can just be added to either team. It adds to the competitiveness and helps us improve our teamwork. Our seasons usually last about 4 to 6 games so it isn't that permanent. If you didn't like your team last season, you can change it up now.

However, some people pointed out that because of the irregularity of some of the players, we could end up with unbalanced teams. So they just want mixed teams every week.

This past month has already been freeplay so I guess we could alternate to set teams for a best of 7 series, then go back to free play and then go back to teams again, etc.

What do you guys think?

SRC G36E

SRC SR-36E

SRC just recently released a G36E airsoft gun. It should reach the HK stores pretty soon and hopefully around the price range ($197) on that website. I wonder how it compares with the Classic Army?

If the quality is anything like their last release (SRC XM8) then this gun will definitely be on my "Must Buy" list.

What's Yur Airsoft Net Worth?

New Cyma CM.028-A

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that Cyma just dropped a new (more like a rebrand) mpeg out.

The hopup unit is still the same, but this time they put in a brass barrel instead of the crappy aluminum they had on the Cm.028.

Look interesting, might buy it in the future just to have an AK in the airsoft collection.

Game for January 20

Hey Guys,
Sorry I haven't been posting much but here's the plan for this weekend. The papermill on NCS road. It's way before our regular spot. Basically, just as you hit Abundant Life Church on the right side of the road, take the next left. There is an open R/C Plane field to your right as you enter. Just keep driving down and you'll reach the building. We haven't played there in a while but Ben and the outrigger boys were there last week and I guess it was OK. So 6AM so that we can kinda scout the area and determine the game rules, boundaries, etc. Here's the map courtesy of aiden.

Sunday Game NCS 6 AM

HOI!!! Don't cry, dry your eye. Turn that frown upside down.

Get your weekly dose of airsoft from 6 AM to 6 PM.

Do what you gotta do, go to work, go to church, then bring the family down to a fun filled day of airsoft. I officially invited the Guam Server guys so expect new people. Let's give them a chance, a lot of them really like airsoft and I'd like to get the attendance numbers back up so we have more leverage with another field or if we use the Tiyan Field.

I don't want airsoft to die now, we've all invested too much time and money on it.

I want everyone to make it, even just to watch and share your opinion on what we should do about the field.

Ideas about food and drinks are welcome. Any questions, please refer to Glen.

Airsoft Shopping

Anyone know the current stock of BB's at Champions/K-mart? Any discount for price at Champions? Anybody check RUSH for the AS gear? I heard they had .28's for $50 or something.Did Jimmy or Renz bring back BB's?

Anyway, I know a lot of us are now ordering our stuff online which is great. But just keep an eye out for the new guys that are just buying whatever online. Make sure they don't make us look like terrorist or hoodlums when picking up their stuff at Customs or whatever. If customs gives you a hard time with your stuff, don't get mad and argue with them, it'll only make things worse. Let's show them that we are responsible adults. (Keyword is ADULT -Kids don't pick up your own guns from the postoffice if you're not 18). This is a point that Glen wanted me to stress out.

With all this heat that we're getting, we can't afford anymore bad publicity.

Your Humble VP,
Rommel

Game for January 13/14 Weekend

Hey Guys,
Just taking a quick poll. If we don't play on Saturday morning, when would be the next best appropriate time?

Sat Afternoon
Sun Morning
Sun Afternoon

Also, is anybody planning to visit the Tiyan Paintball field this weekend? Me and Glen met Rich and Aaron, the guys that run the place and they're pretty OK. If anybody plans on playing there though, there will probably be a field fee and paintballers. I think I'd prefer it if before anyone of us plays AS there, we kinda go together. I don't kknow how it will look if like only 3 or 4 or us show up all geared up and ready to play but everyone else is playing PB.Just an idea, let me know what you think.

TM M1911A1 Review

TM M1911A1 Review
By Lon

For Airsoft Guam

Intro
: The TM 1911 is one of TM's newer "high kick, high grouping" guns. It came out in August 2006 as a cheaper alternative to the more expensive WA 1911 models. It retails at about ~$125 on most sites.

Looks: The TM 1911 has a replicated parkerized finish. It's pretty much a flat gray all around, and it's actually pulled off pretty well. Is it perfect? No, but it's very good. Upon first glance, one could think the gun is metal, but nope, it's 100% ABS plastic, minus the hardware, i.e the trigger, hammer, safety, and slide release.

It's true that TM pistols aren't the best in appearance, especially their older models (eh, pretty much every model before the 1911 unfortunatley...), which have somewhat prominent seams depending on the gun in question. The TM 1911 has no seams, PERIOD.

But what's not to like are the crappy looking, plastic faux wood grips. Seriously now TM... they don't even LOOK like wood. One could replace the OEM grips with real 1911 grips, but lose a whole lot of the gun's heft in the process, because under the stock grips are weight panels, weighing at about ~+50 grams each if I were to estimate.

Note: My 1911 was ordered from Redwolf, and had the trades totally covered up with a peice of tape superglued onto the slide. I didn't expect this, and needless to say, I was kinda pissed at first. But it wasn't anything big... I just had to scrape the plastic off with a freakin' red hot 200 degree knife. If you plan to order one of these from Redwolf, consider ordering from another site.

Feel:
The TM 1911 is pretty hefty for such a slim, single stacked gun; It weighs in at about 780 grams with the mag in. There are no rattles (well maybe a LITTLE if you shake it a lot), showing that this thing is pretty well built, inside and out.

The blowback with green gas is very quick and crisp. The kick isn't too bad, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want, really. And speaking of green gas, using it with this gun is perfectly FINE. Same thing goes for propane, as they more or less the same thing.

Now the 1911 is a single stack gun, meaning that in real life, it's mag only holds one stack of .45 cal bullets. The TM 1911 is a double stack in the airsoft world, but of course, it still retains the 1911's slim grip. If you hold a double stacked Glock or Beretta, you'll feel the difference in width right away. This makes the gun easy to handle, especially for people with small hands... but what many people I've seen having troubles with, including me, is reaching the freakin' SLIDE RELEASE (aka the lever you release when you're outta bullets). I guess Browning designed this thing for big "American" hands. Yeah, live with it people with small hands... I personally got used to it myself.

Performance
: The TM 1911 is designed for use with HFC 134, AKA PC duster gas, AKA car aircon fluid. But, like mentioned above, using green is fine, and reccomended. No worries about cracking your slide here, as the plastic on the 1911 is very durable.

Power is something the TM 1911 doesn't have out of the box. It shoots at around 260-70 FPS, which is considerably lower than a good amount of other gas blowbacks on the market. Still, this should be more than enough in most cases.

Range and accuracy are two things that the TM 1911 DO have out of the box, though! I'd say it can reach as far as a stock AEG with it's hop up dial turned all the way up. Yes, it does have an adjustable hop up, and a very good one at that. Accessing it is a bit of a pain, as you need to take off the slide to actually see the dial... other than that, things are pretty simple here. I'd say the TM 1911 is a 5 star in the "performance out of the box" area.

But perhaps the TM 1911's biggest issue is it's gas economy. With green gas, don't expect to shoot a full mag's worth (26 rounds) of BB's with one charge. The main thing that contributes to this problem is, you guessed it, the thin single stack mags, which don't have very big gas reservoirs. I usually load 22 rounds for a guaranteed slide lock and empty mag. You gotta give it up to TM for making the 1911's mag hold 26 rounds in the first place anyway, as many airsoft 1911's only hold around 20.

Note: Don't mess with the inner unit's (that THING that holds the barrel and hop-up) too much. You may weaken the screws after the 50th time. Don't touch things you don't need to... I learned this the hard way.

Overall: The TM 1911 is up there as one of the best-yet-most-affordable gas guns out right now, I have no doubt about it. Great build quality, good looks and solid performance make it an awesome pistol to own overall. If you're the type of player who busts out a sidearm for what it should be used for, i.e a gun to use in bad situations when your rifle is totally messed, the TM 1911 is a near perfect fit for you. Just get an extra mag, and you're set, man.

Ratings
Looks: 8.5/10 - Very nice, but those plastic "wood" grips don't even resemble wood. Finish is good, but it could be a bit better...

Feel: 9.0/10 - Feels great in the hand, has some heft.

Performance: 9.5/10
- Awesome. Good range and accuracy. Power could be a bit better, but that may be asking for too much.

Overall: 9.0/10 - Solid pistol overall, highly reccomended.
