Season 4

Hey Guys,
I've been doing a lot of thinking for Season 4. Right now is a really hectic time for all of us. We have potential off-island competition coming next year but I seriously don't think we're ready to "host" them until we get our act together. Here are a few ideas we should consider at least for the next week or so...

If we do start season 4, maybe we'll wait til next year, either Jan. 6 or 13. This way, we'll have a little more time to inform the guys what's going on with the season and it will give Ernesto more time to hash out our rules.

Out of our group, the main force of AEG, we should maybe have only 2 teams. A 3 or 4th team would comprise of the walk-ons, and maybe the off-islanders. We'll play it by ear for now. We won't know much about how to do it until we see those guys next Saturday.

This Saturday, I'm still expecting a full turnout. Is anybody thinking otherwise? We need to show these Hawaii guys that we're very united in our organization. We told them 6:30 and I hope you guys can get everyone there by that time so we can play a little earlier.

Right now, I need nominations for team captains. The captains should be in charge of their teams, keeping them informed of the rules, game times, etc. This duty should be very separate from the administrative duties of hosting the games. Basically, a group of 2 or 3 would be in charge of formalizing all the rules, taking care of logistics, and informing the captains of decisions and anouncments. The captains would not necessarily be in that group, but whose duty it is to carry out what the "tribunal" says. For example, example only...

Tribunal :
Oliver,Rommel, Jimmy
Any suggestions about rules, fairplay, tournaments ideas goes to us
We keep documentation of game results, rules, club charter, etc.
We can assign new members to teams and oversee the basic fairness in the teams.
We do not oversee any team organization but only talk directly to the captains.
Set up the games.

Captains:
Roger: Team Sunshine -
Pat: Team Rainbow -
These guys should do most of the work on saturday. They are responsible for anything their team does. They have to make sure they understand the rules and meet before games, etc.
They should take attendance.

I feel we need to do this because right now only a few key people are doing everything and it ruins the fun of the game if there's too much stress. Captains should be concerned about strategy and gameplay on game day. Not worrying about new walk ons or other misc. stuff. The tribunal should have already done their part before the game and informed the captains and should just have to play on gameday.

But we need to nominate 2 guys at least for captainship(?) These guys need to be reliable and trustworty. They also need to be balanced if we're going to have a good season. You can't have all the great players on one team(6mm :) anymore.

We need this before saturday guys.

Game 4 Results

Hey Guys Sorry for delay. I know you've all been anxious to see what the results were of last Saturday's game. I know this season has had its share of problems and controversy but it has also seen it's share of great developments in the game and we've all learned many lessons from holding the tournament. There's been a lot of growth in terms of teamwork, pyschological warfare, and a great increase in gun our overall gun armament. With the closing of season three, I hope all of us can remember the reason we started playing in the first place, FUN. Let's not forgot that we're still all friends and all those mind games we played with each other is supposed to be in good fun. Anyway here are the results.

Airsoft Week 20th Anniversary

20 weeks ago(roughly 5 months)...me and a group of friends took the opportunity to try airsoft guns. fastfoward to today, what used to be $30 or $40 see through k-mart crossman airsoft guns turned in to powerful $300 Tokyo Marui and Classic Army. During that duration, we met up with a group of strangers in an unknown(to us at that time) vicinity called toys n joys. sure enough, our friendship and bond strengthen the team to what it is now.

Seasons passed and players split up to test their abilities. Competition gloomed over every player's hearts(ok kindda exaggerating) but the games went on. 6mm took it all...swept the field of it's competitors. But after all that, the clouds dispersed and there was unity again. the group rallied it's troops, under one flag, under one name while a new enemy comes crashing into the party all the way from Hawaii.

Yes it's been about 20 weeks since most of us started and the game of airsoft still affects our lives. I look back and reflect on how i would of been if it was not for airsoft. I probably would of be out selling an doing drugs or something if it was not for my addiction to guns. Haha ok just messing but yeah, hopefully and eventually, the sport will rise out of the ashes and feed the hunger that is to shoot someone in the head. "BOOM HEADSHOT!" This dedication is going out to those fallen comrades who started out with us in the journey but could not eat, sleep, and breathe the sport of airsoft the way we do. In honor, we pick up their guns and fire it once more! Only if it's a TM or something, then we keep it and never return it :D

so yeah if you guys don't know about it, there's a group of 20 people from hawaii that we might quite possibly play against with this saturday and the saturday's after that.

yes i charged the batteries...
and yes i tried those batteries on the other guns and they work perfectly fine.

what sucks is that i never used this gun in combat and this is the gun i was trying to sell.

Someone from GuamServer said that the landscaper got mad that we didnt' sweep our BB's. So someone from each team please bring a broom and trashbags for dumping. Shoot.

GMH Site

Hey Guys,

I heard somewhere that they started moving in the heavy equipment into our GMH Site. Does anybody know if they started the demo yet? Any volunteers to sit in front of the machines to "protest" the destruction of our sacred airsoft field? I volunteer team ESBA. =)

Airsoft Innovations Propane Adapter Quick Review

AIRSOFT INNOVATIONS PROPANE ADAPTER QUICK REVIEW
By Lon

Gas gun owners, do you like spending 13 bucks a bottle on a 1100 ml green gas can? Yeah, me neither. Thank God Tnj sells it for a reasonable $13, unlike that one place at the mall. $35? What a rip off... those days before TnJ were sad days for a GBB owner.

But either way, you'll use up all that gas, and bam, you need to spend another 13 bucks to shoot your GBB/NBB again.

Well, the Airsoft Innovations (AI) Propane adapter can help reduce your airsoft gas-buying costs dramatically. According to the founder of AI, green gas IS propane, just without the lube, and with some other fancy chemicals added. I don't think is 100% true despite the extensive tests he used to "prove" that green gas is propane, but it's safe to say that there's little doubt that the two gases are similar. That, and some green gas cans actually list "propane" as a main ingredient... so that tells you something. Check out Airsoft Innovation's page to see the arguments/tests.

...And in case you didn't know, your standard can of propane usually goes for 3 bucks at K-Mart (camping section). Compare that to a 13 buck can of green gas! Propane tanks are built way better than ANY green gas can ever be, and I believe they also hold more gas, despite being shorter... but don't take my word for that. One thing that you shouldn't do while using the propane adapter is SMOKING. Smoking near a can of propane is just as bad as smoking near a can of green gas, although since propane is KNOWN to be super flammable, people would assume green gas isn't. Well, it is. So don't smoke when filling your mags with gas. End of story.

A gas gun's power with propane is reported to be a bit stronger than with green gas, maybe around 10 or so fps more if I were to estimate. ONE sure thing that green gas has an advantage over propane is that it doesn't smell so bad. Actually, it smells pretty good. Kinda like roses. But propane smells like rotten eggs mixed with ****. Here's a tip: COLEMAN brand propane is the stinkiest brand out there... buy NORTHWEST TERRITORY brand propane if you can't take the stink. It smells a whole lot less than Coleman (I actually smell the smell of green gas when filling with it), and it's cheaper, too. 6 bucks for two cans; Coleman is 4 bucks for 1. One important thing you should get along with the propane adapter is some silicon oil, as propane does not have it, unlike green gas supposedly does. Just drop some in the propane tank's top every 3-5 mags and fill away.

So hopefully that cleared things up for you potential propane users. The AI propane adapter has problably been one of the wisest airsoft purchases I have EVER made. It's payed it's 40 buck pricetag tenfold, seriously. TnJ has the adaptor for a very reasonable $40. Ordering online wouldn't save you much $$$, so don't even bother, just get it locally!

PROS
+ Totally worth it
+ Well made
+ Saves you a whole lot of $$$ in the long run

CONS
- Filling nozzle is a BIT sensitive, keep it out of harm's way
- Most propane cans STINK, look for Northwest Territory!
- Somewhat high price tag of $40, but it pays itself off

Tokyo Marui M92FS- Gas Blow Back Review

Tokyo Marui M92FS- Gas Blow Back Review

By Noel

Sup, well I’m going to write a quick review on my very first GBB, The Tokyo Marui Beretta M92FS.

First Impressions: I ordered the gun through Lon and when he first brought it over I was very excited. The box has a great presentation overall and clearly depicts the M9 slide pulled back. I basically chose this gun off of the influence of playing the Max Payne videogames. And also it said it was a good GBB to get for beginners since It’s low priced, durable, and easy to upgrade.

Well when I lifted the cover of the box first thing I noticed was the ugly blaze orange on the tip. Its required and its BS. Not a problem though I got to work on that. But we’ll get back to that later on. The typical TM box I guess from reading other reviews is pretty basic you get a mag, cleaning rod, user manual and all the other pamphlets and leaflets that TM’s sends with it.

Examination: when I first picked up the gun it was very light I knew what I was getting into since the description said it was ABS plastic when I ordered, I kind of thought to myself great I spent cheap I get cheap. And mostly that’s what happens in this kind of hobby, thankfully TM didn’t crap out on me it was the real Tokyo Marui quality everyone expects just a notch down since it’s a nooby gun.

There are molding seams all over this thing, its kind of what TMs are looked down for, but there improving as seen on Lon’s government colt 1911 and the newly released G17. but my gun is kind of an oldie I don’t know when it was first released but I could tell since they only started improving this minor problem.

Yup not really a problem but it would be appreciated, I’m not a realism whore with all that stuff with trades and what not….or I think I kinda am.. the M9 has fake trades on them so it wasn’t really a problem for customs, but then again customs here is lax eh.

On the left slide the markings say “U.S. 9mm M9 MILITARY – 29598” and on the other side “U.S. 9mm M9 TOKYO MARUI Co. ,Ltd 29598 Made in Japan” clearly not the real trades. Wasn’t to bummed about it since it was my first gun.

By this time I fitted my gun with real M9 tactical grips made by Hogue, courtesy to Lon.

Test Fire: Anyway after examining the gun me and Lon decided to test fire it right out of the box, I have a sticky target and fired about 5yards length. So I was expecting a lot out of this gun accuracy wise as it says on the box “Speed, Power, And Accuracy” “The Master Piece of M92FS GBB” that’s saying a lot.

I first filled my gun with HFC134A Lon modded a air duster can for a fill so we went with that. When I fired the first shot I was impressed it was dead on my target I fired a few times and everything went smoothly I didn’t trace its fps but I estimated with the poor mans chrono about 250 even stronger now that I roll with green gas probably around 280 fps.

The next day I decided to have a little fun with the M9 so I shot a few rounds around my house then I encountered my first problem and it only was the second day. It seems that every other shot I fired the gun slide locked or didn’t cycle properly. After me an Lon examined it we found out it was because of the gas were using, the 134a

Due to the weakness of the gas the gun wasn’t fully sliding back, so I had no other choice but to move it up to green gas, after that everything worked fine.

So after breaking it in and going every Saturday and every other Sunday since august or September, my gun finally broke not permanently its kind of serious but its easily fixable and just need to order the parts. It turns out after stress from using Green gas the ABS plastic that withstood a beating over months finally took its toll. My M9 slide finally cracked new the edge of the muzzle. Its no surprise to me that it would crack there after looking back on it, it was the slimmest part of the slide. (Ill put pics later)

It broke near the end of November. And now I am still saving up the cash to buy a new slide, just not any other slide but a metal slide that will sure increase the durability of the gun. My gun is still alive and well and I have been able to still use it thanks to Lon letting me borrow his M190 slide.

Overall: Overall this gun has taught me how to take care of GBB's. It has great value, fps is around 270 (stock), accurate when using .2's and up. Cons- unrealistically light, fake trades, plastic (ABS), original mag not silent fill, CAN NOT take HFC134a gas.

Orange Tip: I basically just took nail polish remover then proceeded to take it off. Its against the law to remove the orange tip off of a airsoft gun but since I’m just so balls to the wall I just did it. One thing though with nail polish remover or any kind of alcohol based thing is that it will eat away at plastic which was what my gun was made out of. If it was metal then I would have been in the Green, but then again the damage to the plastic wasn’t really that noticeable.

HFC M190 Full Metal Version Review

HFC M190 Full Metal Version Review

By Lon

INTRO

The HFC M190 FMV was actually my FIRST real airsoft GBB (gas blow back ). I got it back in 2003, the year it first came out. Or was it 2004? Damn, I can’t remember. Anyway, my first M190 broke after a few thousand rounds when the outer barrel cracked… can you believe that? Friendly tip: DO NOT buy the CO2 version, or any of the cheapo ABS versions. Trust me, they’ll give you problems ‘till there’s no tomorrow. The standard Green Gas powered, full metal M190 is the topic of this review.

The HFC M190 FMV has become one of airsoft’s most popular pistols, and for a few good reasons: It’s affordable, full metal, built well, holds 25 rounds, and is quite efficient on gas unlike other gas guns in it’s class, most notably the WE Hi-Capa series.

ASTHETICS

The first thing you’ll probably notice when you pick up a full metal M190 is the weight. At around 2 pounds, only a few other pistols outweigh it... the only one that I can think of at the moment is the HFC Dark Hawk, which weighs around 3 or so pounds. For around ~$140, you’re getting a hefty, fairly well-built, full metal gun for a decent price. The material of the metal on the M190 isn’t the highest, and there are a few VERY minor seams (lines), but it’s more than satisfactory. This thing can take a beating, and if you know me, I treat my guns like **** for the most part. The M190 is 99% metal; the only thing on this gun that’s plastic are the grips and safety lever.

The M190 FMV comes in two different paint schemes: One is a “Special Edition” black with imitation wood grips, and the other is olive drab with black rubber composite (I THINK that’s what it is) grips. The black version scratches easy, while the olive drab finish is a little bit tougher. Whether you want the black or olive drab is up to you; the difference is purely cosmetic. I personally got myself a black, and scraped the paint off of the outer barrel for that TM Biohazard M9 look. And speaking of the TM M9, the M190 is a near 100% copy of it, but with a tac rail, a better, non-leak mag, a full metal body, and some minor internal differences. It’s extremely easy to share the same parts between the two, and the M190 can take any upgrade the TM can. It should be noted that the TM M9’s trigger pull is noticeably lighter and smoother than the M190’s, although that wouldn’t really matter in double action, as they are both comparably short (I’d say the TM is just a few ounces lighter, but a whole lot smoother) in this mode.

Like the TM it was copied from, the M190 suffers from some of it’s originators problems. First off is the fact that the trigger spring is known to break… I haven’t had this problem with my M190 yet, and I hope I don’t ever have to deal with it. It does seem to be somewhat of an uncommon problem, although I have read more than a few reports of it happening. Secondly, there are a two springs that may easily be misplaced when taking the grips off. One is the spring of the slide lock, and the other is a “shoulder” spring that is pretty much required for the gun to shoot. So when you take the grips off, be sure to be careful about those springs, as they are EXTREMLEY easy to lose!

PERFORMANCE/POWER

So the M190 is well built (as long as if you don’t tamper with the internals without know what you’re doing…) no doubt about it. But what about it’s performance? I’m glad to report it’s “good”. This thing can shoot a .20 60-80 plus feet with pretty decent accuracy. The hop up is tuned for .20’s, but it can shoot .12’s quite well if need be. Cool down is minimal, and it seems to take rapid fire well. You can expect to shoot around a mag and a half with one 10 second fill of green. The M190’s magazines are one of the best things about the gun overall, as they can hold a good amount of gas, with no leaks when filling, unlike the TM or KJW M9 mags.

The Coke… err… PEPSI can test…

KSC .20 Perfect BB’s with Northwest Territory propane. Done a foot away… as you can see from these pics, the M190 shoots through BOTH sides of the can with no problem. So from this result, we can safely say that from a foot or so away, the M190 is capable of shooting ~300 fps. Note that not all gas guns are capable of doing this; my TM 1911 can't.

OVERALL

All in all, the HFC M190 FMV is probably the best bang-for-buck Beretta 92FS based pistol out there today. If I had to outfit a team with sidearms, the HFC M190 FMV would probably be standard issue... It’s easy to maintain (basic Beretta field stripping), boasts high durability, has decent accuracy, and features high BB and gas capacity, all at an affordable price tag. It’s highly recommended by me.

PROS
+ Full metal
+ GREAT magazines
+ High durability
+ Powerful

CONS
- Sad trademarks: “Cal.6mm 2003” and “AIR MODEL FIREARMS”

- Trigger spring issues?

- Finish could be a bit better, especially on the black gun

Lon's Airsoft Ordering Service

Hey guys, this is Lon on Noels account, 'cause I forgot my damn Blogger password. Anyway, I'm taking orders for pistols and other small items (i.e., parts, extra mags) for you airsofters that totally don’t have access to a mailbox... the site I'll be ordering from is Redwolf Airsoft.

How it works...? Just give me the cash, I'll order it, the order comes in, and you'll get your EMS Speedpost box in around 2 weeks, 3 at most; I will NOT touch your package in any way, except when I pick it up from the post office, and when I actually give it to you, of course.

You’ll have to pay your order in full before I place the order, and I’m thinking of making a tip fee of 5 bucks. That isn’t asking too much, is it?

Now there are a few things to be aware of with this “service”: If your package somehow gets SEIZED (like, taken away permanently), I’m sorry, but I can’t do anything about it. But ordering from Redwolf, I have NEVER had to deal with customs, PERIOD. And just to let you know, Redwolf is INFAMOUS for their covering up of trades. Example, if you order a fully trademarked gun, say a TM Colt M1911A1, expect the whole left part of the slide to be covered up with a SUPER ABBRASIVE tape that’s nearly impossible to remove by any normal means… So whether or not you want to get a trademarked gun is totally up to you, but personally, I’d seriously think it over.

There are some pretty good un-trademarked pistols out there, though: I recommend the HFC M190 full metal series, as they’re pretty affordable and very reliable. I can order these for you at $130 (semi auto version) and $135 (full auto version). I’m up for ordering mags and parts as well, basically anything but AEG’s, just tell me what you’re interested in, and I can give you a quote… but please note that shipping isn’t cheap.

So that’s about it. If anyone is interested, just reply I guess, or email me at lonnie_fukuda@yahoo.com

Airsoft Week 17

Tournament of Champions Week 1 Results

E.S.B.A minor 3-1
6mm Warriors 1-2
WarFreaks 1-2

Opening day of Week 1 Season 3 was filled with drama and filled with hype. The games officially started at 8am this past Saturday December 2, 2006. The first game between ESBA and 6mm caused a stir of debate due to several reasons. One, the game went on for about an hour and a half, longer than the agreed 30 minute time limit. Second, there was a dispute to the amount of players that were eliminated in each team. Because we were determining the winner of that contest by the amount of people eliminated on each team, that confusion lead to half the team not being properly prepared for the next game while the other team that wasn't suppose to play, was out on the field already.

The second game between ESBA(again) and WarFreak also brought about issues. This time it was concerning boundary lines. Though I don't think we properly proposed where the boundary line is, it's common sense to know that you will not be shooting at each other's vehicles located at the road line. A discussion was held to ensure that each team and player understood where those lines are located now.

Even with the controversy of certain rules, the rest of the day was filled with tiring, sweat drenching, and blood spilling fun! Out of the pack came team ESBA to claim the first "Champions of the Week" title. Congratulations to them and my respect, high five, and butt smacking(not in a gay way) salute goes to the other two teams who I know gave a hard fought battle in each game played that Saturday. As the tournament of champions continue this Saturday, let's try to ensure that all rules and precaution are implemented. We may not have the perfect system but the main thing is that we are enjoying what we are doing. This is bound to be a long season because I clearly think that all the teams are EVENLY matched. I wish everyone all the luck they can handle. Even if this is a friendly tournament, bring the mentality of winning because if you don't...then just go home. That's what makes this tournament competitive and FUN!!

New Airsoft Sheriff in Town

FYI

Play n Trade is now selling airsoft guns. The brands they have for is Desert Eagle, CYMA, and WELL. They are selling the LPEG(Low Powered Electric Guns) ranging from $30 to $60. No, they are not metal gearboxes and some of them are 2:1 scale replicas of m4's, mp5's, and xm8's. Also on the racks are springers. You can find them near the backwall where the PS2 games are located. Also on sale but not on display is 100 ct. bb's going for $4.99 i believe. I'm not sure the weight of them and didn't bother asking because the price already seems too much for a hundred.

Another places selling airsoft goodies is Mark's sporting good. They just restocked on 5000 ct. orange colored .12's(i think) and cheap crossman clear see through airsoft guns. It doesn't specifically say .12's on the bottle but the weight and look is about the same. According to several resources, all the other stores are out of .20 bb's but i believe rommel still has a couple more bags. Just ask him if you are desperately in need of some.

Well, happy hunting guys and see ya' ll tomorrow...with game face and all.
